Ummmmmmmmmmm............

Ditch Sun keyboard. Use ps2 keyboard with ps2 mouse.
Run dpkg-reconfigure xfree86-xserver
now I can set mouse to psaux.

All works great.

Seems if it detects a Sun keyboard, expects to have sun mouse as well.
