Ron,

You should look at the Synce project, this is an activesync type
replacement for Linux.

If you take a look at http://synce.sourceforge.net, it has details on
using synce and multisync to get syncronisation between evolution.

I havent had too much success personally, but I am working with an IPAQ
5450, of which im having difficulty in the 2.4 kernel. 3800 should be
fine however as it is an older and more supported model.
