Hoping for some more help on trying to mount drive hdb to retrieve
data. thanks dazza & rickw for their recent postings.
fdisk tells me that /dev/hdb is definately their!!

I then created the directory /mnt/temp as a directory to mount to
The following happens;
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/ > mount -t ext2 /dev/hdb1 /mnt/temp
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdb1,
or too many mounted file systems

have also attempted to add a line into /etc/fstab then reboot which
results in having to do a rescue as it then would enable system in write
mode only.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/> less /etc/fstab (is as follows)

/dev/hda5 /boot ext2 defaults 1 2
/dev/hda6 swap swap defaults 0 2

Please any suggestions on what the problem maybe? Do I need to add hdb
as a mount point in /etc/fstab??
