Dear Slug Users

thanks to all who posted with pointers on how to mount RH 9.0 hdb ext3
fs drive onto a SuSe 7.0 ext2 fs drive from within SuSE.

After several hours of no success I got hold off a Knoppix 3.3 bootable
cd. Someone on slug suggested this and I can only recommend that every
Linux user should have a Knoppix cd purely for the reason for using it
as a recovery platform.

I was able to mount all drives and cp till kingdom come. All happy again
and now data restored and a fresh RH 9.0 install is running along
nicely.

With Thanks To All

dvr

btw: It appears that Knoppix can be used to access password protected
machines with no problem at all
