Hey All, I have a machine freshly build, and just for building purposes, it was assigned a dynamic IP address from a dhcp server. I have since changed it to a static IP address, not through the dhcp server, but just in the local /etc/network/interfaces (Without rebooting), then ran `ifdown eth0; ifup eth0` This worked fine for about a day, until the dhcp server offered a new IP address, and the debian machine accepted!! I restarted the network (ifdown eth0; ifup eth0), and it worked OK again. However, I noticed dhclient-2.2.x running, so I have terminated that process, and hopefully everything will continue to work ok.
Would this be categorised as a bug? Cheers, Scott -- Scott Ragen Support Manager/IT Administrator Roadtech Systems www.roadtech.com.au PH: +61 2 9807 3516 FAX: +61 2 9808 5294 -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
