Point your browser at http://localhost:631/ and check out the printer's status, it usually gives a good indication as to what it thinks is wrong. If it asks you to login, root & root's password will do. From here you can also check what jobs are queued up. I found that whenever a printer goes offline CUPS detects this but doesen't seem to retry in any hurry. Maybe somebody's gotten around this? Therefore 'Stop' and 'Start' printer seems to get it going. -- ---<GRiP>--- Electronic Hobbyist, Former Arcadia BBS nut, Occasional nudist, Linux Guru, SLUG/AUUG/Linux Australia member, Sydney Flashmobber, BMX rider, Walker, Raver & rave music lover, Big kid that refuses to grow up.
