Hi SLUGers, (sorry couldn't resist the baseball reference) I have just moved to Sydney from San Francisco and am in quite a conundrum. I currently own 2 DSL modems, but have both on their way to Oz via a shipping container due to arrive in Jan. I knew there was one more thing I should have stuff in that 30kg carry-on bag. ;-)
Is there anyone with an extra DSL modem that would be willing to rent or sell it cheap_with_the_option_of_repurchasing? I have a Linksys wireless router/4 port switch and for some reason I made the mistake of thinking that box included the DSL modem....yup dumb mistake..but anyway....Hopefully someone has a modem and is near a train station in North Sydney or anywhere I can get close to via a train. I am looking for the Ethernet variant as opposed to the USB model. To be used in a 100% Linux home (I converted my wife's laptop over amount 2 months ago).
