Hope to $DIETY that it's Fortran77 or later if you want to have a sane chance
of converting it to another language without major hair loss.
At least that version of Fortran has the Dijkstrafications so that loops and
other control structures no longer have to be done with GOTOs and labels.
Fortran, a very powerful language. Where powerful is easily defined and the
ease that a programmer can shoot themselves in the foot and still do cool stuff
in minimal amount of code.
The cool thing I like about Fortran is that there is a difference between a
function and a subroutine.
That and the ability to pass a list of labels that a subroutine can return to
once it's done it's thing.
