Hey All, I am having a problem with Kernel 2.6.0, well a couple of them. The first problem I have noticed is when I do hdparm -t /dev/hda it gets to timing buffer reads, then the machine locks up - this has happened on the two occasions I have tried it. There is no errors reported. I have an ABIT NF7-S, which uses the nforce2 chipset, I am using the ide interface.
The ide chipset I selected in the kernel is: AMD74XX lspci reports(on Kernel 2.4.22): 00:00.0 Host bridge: nVidia Corporation nForce2 AGP (different version?) I can be doing anything from browsing the web to startx to waking my machine from sleep. However it hasn't done it when I am playing games (Return to castle wolfenstien Enemy Territory, NeverWinter Nights, etc). I have performed a memtest, and its clean. Anyway, does anyone have this problem this hdparm? Also, has anyone got kernel 2.6.0 working with the nforce2 ethernet controller?
