See, this is why you should have come to LCA.  <grin>  Bdale Garbee's talk
today included some mention of a system called MythTV (www.mythtv.org) which
is centered around PVR technology, but does that whole distributed thing you
want.  I imagine that it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they
can distribute media of other bents as well, or that it will be incorporated
into the system in the future.
