Yes, you can do this. And you can run smssend to do this for you. And no, optus' staff don't know about smssend, > command line or email options available. Is your information recent? Yes. I use the script fairly often. I have an aricle on smssend in an upcoming APC if you're more interested with other exciting possibilities too :^).
