Hi, has anyone experience of installing Debian on a Transmeta Crusoe? The reason I ask is there is a well priced notebook (we are talking under $1500 new retail) distributed by Protac. URL to specs for interested: <http://www.protac.com.au/a531.pdf>
There were issues with the previous model, the A530, but the Google I found was oldish. (The main issue seemed to be vol control on the Sound at the time) One advantage of these notebooks is there is no M$ tax. Any help appreciated, as I need a better notebook with wifi, and I am not confident I can do the patching to get something working if there are major issues. (I can compile kernels, etc, but do not stretch to much more than that.) Regards Doug PS: If the decision is made to purchase, I will probably try Mepis. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
