I'm trying to run the java debugger on my Mandrake 9.0 machine,
and for some reason, when I try to use the java debugger, either using ddd
or the command (for example) % jdb Look locsS.txt and then
                                  > run
I get the following:

run Look locsS.txt
VM start exception: VM initialization failed for:
/usr/local/j2sdk1.4.2/jre/bin/java -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Djava.compiler=NONE
-Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=pc162159.napier.ac.uk:33006,suspend=y
Look locsS.txt

Error [113] in connect() call!
err:: No route to host
Socket transport failed to init.
Transport dt_socket failed to initialize, rc = -1.
FATAL ERROR in native method: No transports initialized

Fatal error:

I'm using JDK1.4.2 by Sun Microsystems.
Any feedback on how to correct this would be much appreciated.
I'm relatively new to Linux!
