I have a laptop which has really bad and obvious lines on it. It has evenly 1cm spaced horizontal lines half way down the screen.
Would anyone know of where the damage is? Cabling? the actual LCD? I dont believe it is the LCD itself as the lines are lines as so uniform. I have tried jiggling the screen arms, but apart from that I have never opened a laptop. It seems that the damage pretty much happened overnight as well.
Can/Do manufacturers replace the whole screen? Warranty is out of the question its an old thing with sentimental value.
Tomorrow I'll take it to the manufacturer see if they can do anything, though if anyone has suggestion that would be great.
