direction. Like for eg network mounting the home directory - afp, smb or nfs?
It might have been something I was doing wrong, but I could never really get nfs mounting at home with OSX to a linux box. I ended up using smb with worked beautifully.
Can't really help you out with the authentication part though, although having a search through http://www.macosxhints.com is highly recommended.
