I have a small problem, or is that a problem requiring a small solution. My SuperMicro 1U rack mount server needs to have both SCSI and GigaBit Ethernet cards installed, but being a 1U form factor, it comes with only one space on the back panel for a normal-sized PCI card, and a right-angle adapter that sits in the first of the four PCI slots on the motherboard. so if you put a normal sized card in it would cover up the other three slots. does that make sense? :)
anyway I've been puzzling about this for weeks now, and only just discovered they do in fact make half-height cards so i'm thinking maybe we can squeeze two of those in there. my question then is this: has this been done before and what SCSI & GbEnet mini sized PCI cards would work with debian linux?
thnaks in adv, ..S.
