Kevin, For fax you can use hylafax or fgetty, (hylafax is easier to implement and you can use some windows fax clients to connect to it to send faxes.) For answering machine you need to use vgetty, just make sure you get the right modem I have tried to get my box to be an answering machine so far I have had some complications and not enough time to look into it.
Kevin Hi All I need to set up a Fax and Answering machine for my business. Normally I would set up the Copy of Winfax I own and it would do the job perfectly but I wondered if anyone out there has done a similar thing with Linux? What Software is available that will answer a phone line. Determine if it is an incoming fax or a caller and then repond by either recieving the fax or playing a message and recording the caller.
