those modems are good suggestions, but not because they do pppoe.
they support RFC 1483 bridged which the default connection type for tpg. Down with TPG!
other than that, Phil might have a TPG Home connection which does use pppoe, but it needs PAP authentication, not chap. So you need to check if its going to work, and in fact, the modem he has might be a good bet.
