Hi, I'm thinking of buying a pivot type LCD monitor (you can rotate the monitor from landscape to portrait mode), a HP L1730 in fact. Does any know whether these only work with certain graphics cards? And is there a signal that is sent from the monitor that alerts the card that it's mode is changed (from 1280x1024 to 1024x768 I guess)? How does this work with XFree86?
I have googled for info on this, but nothing of substance seems to come up. Hopefully someone out there groks displays and X enough to know the answer to this.
