* An asset register, for things I have at my home. I want to upload pictures of my computer, stereo, CD player, etc, etc, with some descriptions and serial numbers, etc, plus any distinguishing marks, so that if the stuff ever gets nicked I can hand the list with photos over to the police. It'd be nice to offer it as a service to my friends as well, since I have a web server available for this sort of thing.
* A web based forum package (yes there are lots of these) with a good e-mail gateway (fewer) that allows you to post to the forum via e-mail.
I really want both to be web based.
I'd prefer packages in PHP but I'll take Perl, Python, or even Java if I have to.
Has anyone seen anything in their travels that fits the bill of either of the above?
