Damn straight. The xorg guys are doing a really good job of modernising X.
Asides from the config file, they're working on making X use the FHS
structure instead of its own application specific strcuture, and Daniel
Stone's Xizzle allows people to use their existing XF86 drivers on newer X
servers.
