I'm wanting to install a FreeRADIUS server (http://www.freeradius.org/) with a freeside backend (http://www.sisd.com/freeside/). Is this something you guys do at Install Fests? If so, when is the next one? If not, do you guys know anyone who would be able to do this? I've had a shot at installing it but i just keep getting stuck at certian parts. From what i can tell the main parts that need to be installed and setup is an Apache server with SSL and SSH, Perl and mod perl and an SQL database so someone who is familiar with these things would be best if there isn't anyone who is familiar with RADIUS. I'm also hoping that whoever does it would be able to show me how everything was installed so i could note down a full guide on how to install everything so i could replicate it. It would be a bonus if i understood what i was doing as well.
I'm not a total dunce with Linux as i was able to do most parts of the installation i think, but since i didnt't do it all, i can't be sure as to if i did it all right but i know that at least i installed the Apache server right cause i could view it from another computer and Perl as i could install all the little perl modules. There are steps along the way were i am way out of my depth though.
Now its for a comercial application so i would be willing to pay for peoples time and/or a donation to SLUG. i would need to know how much before hand so i could see if the cost was justified for what im going to be doing.
I would prefer it to be done at my place. I have a few computers and a good network setup with a 512k connection and i would also be able to setup my video card to record to VHS so i could have a copy of how things were installed. I live in maroubra (eastern suburbs). Of course if this in not convieant i can work something out. Also im avaliabe pretty much 24/7 to have it happen and an all nighter it cool with me.
i would appriciate it if someone could get back to me about this stuff. time and money are the 2 major factors. probably sometime in the next month or 2 and as little money as possable would be best for me.
