After attempting to install Fedora Core 2, and failing
I resorted to rebooting the RedHat 9.0/Linux 2.4
kernel, only to find that the mouse no longer works in
either "X" or on the virtual terminals; normally when
using VIM on a virtual terminal, if I knock the mouse a
block character appears and moves across the screen
appropriately - that no longer happens.

I've tried running "system-config-mouse" from a
terminal in "X", and quickly see two lines which look
like two lines from the boot messages, with the
coloured OK at the end (being colour-blind, I decided
not to cloud the issue with my guess at the colour).

The cursor symbol just sits in the middle of the screen
refusing to move.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Greg Wood.
