Which D-link modem?  The old DSL-300s were beautiful.  The G ones have
on-board PPPoE if you want it to act as the router, doing NAT on your
behalf, or you can switch them into bridge mode with the web interface (but
the web thingo in it is shithouse).

The USB models (200 series) have a Linux driver I believe, but I wouldn't
rely on my shaky memory.  The PCI one (100 series) doesn't have a real Linux
driver for it, despite what some dickwad salesperson might tell you -- it's
a binary built for RedHat 6 pre-built kernels ONLY (I shit you not -- it's
RH6 or nothing...).
