Thanks for that info... (Well noted...)

I tried connecting to one of the shares we have, didn't work - used the
IP address, and connected successfully, but couldn't connect to one of
the directories (the one I was after) - created a new directory on the
server (without underscores in the name) - and I can now connect to the
correct directory using the netbios name... Curious! :)

Thanks... I think it's all working now, am about to do a fresh install
of Linux here (RH9), so I'll make sure I upgrade to Samba3 ...

Samba2 can not talk to winxp, 2k friendly (Without hacking the registry)
Samba3 on the other hand can talk to XP, and 2k without those hacks also
try using winbind.
