Hi Ashley,

This is due to a 'Network Redirector' driver software on your Win2000/XP-Pro.
Ensure that your Service Pack for Win2000/XP-Pro is current. I believe the
minimum required for:

Win2000 is SP4(Jun 03)
WinXP is SP1a(Feb 03) has an update ?

To determine: Right-click 'My Computer' and choose 'Properties'.

Have fun.

Good Afternoon,

I'm having a brain fade.

I'm setting up a samba server. Done this a couple of times.

All works. Can connect from cmd line with smbclient, and from windows Win2000 and XP-Pro useing make a connection.

What I cann't do is see the server in the network neighbourhood.

wins support is configure in the smb.conf.

nmblookup eserver
works, both from the samba server, and a seperate linux machine.

I've added the samba server as a wins server in both win2000 and XP-Pro.

Ideas greatfully recieved.

Regards,

Ashley
