Unfortunately, gconf is pretty modern and tightly honed. The problem you're having is almost 100% due to GNOME's session support, which is very old and shitty. We need to fix it. Open up Applications > Desktop Preferences > Advanced > Sessions, go to the Current Session tab. Now, I can't give you a reasonable summary of the kind of things that shouldn't be there, but if you note down the process names in a reply, I can tell you which ones to remove (and why they're broken). - Jeff -- linux.conf.au 2005: Canberra, Australia http://linux.conf.au/ "I guess there's part of me that's always resented it... to be an actor, you have to have someone else say yes to you." - Edward Norton -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
