I have a SATA disk that I'd like to use to store a lot of data that I
don't access regularly, but when I need it I don't want the hassle of
inserting CDs. I'd like the drive to stay dormant and only spin up when
I need the data, to save electricity and the drive's life expectancy...
then switch off and go back to sleep when I've finished with it.
Can I do this ? Kernel = 2.6.7-1
thanks
rod
