Members of the SITACS Student Society will have free entry. Others will be charged $5 for the day. Free pizza and coke lunch will be included for all attendees. SLUG volunteers have free entry. If you've ever been interested in Linux, but didnt know where to start. Or if you'd like to learn more about things like :- * how you play cds or dvds ? * how do you set up a linux juke box ? * how do you watch a movie or TV on Linux ? * how do you set up a Simple Firewall? * how do you set up a software development environment / non- standard compilers ? * how do you recompile your kernel and customise your installation ? * how do you program text editors for Linux ? * how do you do on Linux, what you normally do on Windows ? There will also be CD's available for Debian, Ubuntu, RedHat and Madrake. If you're interested in any of this, then come along and learn from others, its a good opportunity to learn more. Volunteer speakers will be required, so if you're up for it, contact the activities list to get involved or organise car pools. -- Swerve me? The path to my fixed purpose is laid with iron rails, whereon my soul is grooved to run. Over unsounded gorges, through the rifled hearts of mountains, under torrents' beds, unerringly I rush! -- Captain Ahab, "Moby Dick"
