Hi all, I took the ubuntu plunge and now i'm stuck.
I want to install java, but the simple apt-get mechanism on the ubuntu webpage that is recommended is broken. It is complaining about a deprecated package that cannot be installed. Now I am sure I can do this via the manual download route (which is what I guess I will end up doing) but you might want to get the webpage updated. Unless of course I am doing something stupid, i've not really every used debian before. Also I wanted to install java to get azureus to work, and I found a deb resource for it, but it complains that it needs libswt to work and that it cannot find this dependency. Again I presumeI just have to find the right deb archive, but is there any central list of different deb sources ?
