I fake the UA to "Moz 1.0 Win98" using the extension PrefBar. Had the same blank page problem today, but just clicked shift-reload and it popped up. Not the best solution. But the problem appears to be a combination of the Java plugin sending the incorrect UA, which prefbar seems to fix, and the browser window that pops up using UA detection. If you leave the UA to something like IE, when you restart FireFox it causes a crash - at least that was the case on earlier versions of Firefox. I'm using the Sun 1.4.2 rc2 JRE.
