I'll suggest as to why I'm no advocate of any Linux Distro.
I believe that Open Source in general and Linux in particular belongs to all peoples, newbies, experts, and not so experts alike.
It is a concept with socialist origins nurtured by a community of people with this common interest to share their ideas and resources to produce a very useful product.
This is why I say no one Linux Distro is superior or inferior to the other. It is what you want to use it for and how you want to use it for, that should decide which Linux Distro to use not the one that some person or group of persons who can push it down your throat.

It does not help most readers who just wants to have objective and fair assessments of the issues at hand.
You are right, though, when Gentoo is mentioned in this list the same people sprung up and suddenly just come to life as if they've come from nowhere.
