tv_grab_au 0.6

I downloaded tv_grab_au. (I had downloaded this previously). Running
mythtvsetup does not display the 'Unknown Options: config-file
and configure' but it hangs. I ran it standalone and aborts with
a message:

Undefined subroutine &main::askQuestion called at ./tv_grab_au 487, <STDIN> line 1

Looking in the code, askQuestion subroutine is nowhere to be
found. Yahoo'd and Google'd. Nothing helpful.

So, this grabber is not even a working tool.

The other grabber with the Unknown Options message does not
abort and produce a guide at location '/tmp/tvguide/guide.xml'
but does not update MySQL database as expected. This command
is suppose to work after that, but does'nt by using this command:

[hdtv] # mythfilldatabase --file 1 -1 /tmp/tvguide/guide.xml

So, I'm back to square one and will re-start with the work I started
modifying 'tv_grab_au'. This is unless, there is someone who has
made this grabber to work or there is a work-around this catch-22
situation. So, what did some do to get MythTV working in
Australia ?

Incidentally, this is probably the reason why there is no official
'tv_grab_au' tool included in the XMLTV distributions; it does
not work as expected by MythTV ( by the rest of XMLTV
compliant software ?). Had no time to ask.

there are some issues with data at the moment but its being sorted out

Hey OP
There shouldnt be any problems with tv_grab_au, in the way you suggest, the script doesn't need to be modified I think you have miss configured some thing.

When I get home (in hospital atm), i will sort out some questions to ask you in regards to your system to get it going right.

Hi Ben,

When i run:
#mythtvsetup
and I get to 3. Video Sources
I create (New video source).
Then, I setup that source, say, I call it:

Antenna

As I am outside U.S.A. I cannot use data-direct and so
I use XMLTV using Australia as my region and
Channel frequency table.

When I finish the setup, MythTVSetup will then proceed and
run the ff:
/usr/bin/perl -w /usr/bin/tv_grab_au --config-file /root/.mythtv/antenna.xmltv --configure
It returns, amongst others the ff:
Unknown option: config-file
Unknown option: configure

I check using tv_grab_jp and it worked. (But of course, I can't
recieve the signal because I'm here is Australia.)

There are a couple of versions. I tried them all but with no good results.
Perhaps, yours comes from another source.
Are you able to tell which is your source you have, that is when you
get home ?

Thanks a lot.

P.S.
Wish you well.
