Update: an off-list reply suggested that I needed to call my SATA drives "/dev/sda" rather than "/dev/hda" in /etc/fstab. I duly changed the references to be to "/dev/sde" rather than "/dev/hde" (there are four non-SATA IDE drives which are called hda through hdd) -- I don't know if the drives are meant to be "sda" or "sde" after the change. In any case, neither of them works any more than "hde" did. There are various SATA drivers that I could try to load, but I need to do 16 reboots to test both "/dev/sda" or "/dev/sde" with all 8 sata_* drivers, so a clue would be appreciated. -Mary -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
