I have deleted an .Xauthority file in my home dir.
Made sure all in /tmp is gone, including any . files or . directories from there (ICE and X socket stuff).
Rebooted.

Solved. I had two problems at once. In .xinitrc I had "wmbatppc &" to monitor battery usage and "xset m 1 4" for the mouse. Maybe there was a prob there. I just deleted .xinitrc, and together with freed up disk space solved the prob. Thus X is now running again.
