Actually, I think that I need to apologise. 

Folio Views is so bad that
it doesn't even work properly on new versions of Windows. It's just that
it is the only piece of Windows software that I have any reason to run
and (not surprisingly) it chokes Wine unless everything is just so.

Until they put out a version which works with all versions of Windows, I
don't think it is worth the effort to try to get it running properly
with Wine. At least I don't think it is worth any of your time.
