1 I have just purchased a notebook which was
specified to be microsoft free. Yes, I know you don't
want other operating systems complained about so I
will say only that the manufacturer would not sell the
notebook without Windows XP. I will take that up
separately with the ACCC.
2 By way of reluctant compromise I had two
partitions set up, one with XP and one with Xandros -
the free basic set.
3 I would like to contact someone who, for a fee,
will set up my notebook so that it will run Vodafone
wireless internet within a Linux system, which may or
may not be Xandros, and may or may not be freeware.
Also, I want XP totally deleted from the notebook so I
am absolutely microsoft free.
4 Leaving aside the [de]merits of microsoft, the
notebook is intended in the New Year to be used in a
one person business which will be document intensive.
Hoping you can refer me to someone who can help, and
wishing you all the best for 2005.
