I went through the web site and tried an alternative method to compiling
the module... but with similar response. /dev/ttyLT0 and /dev/modem exist
on the system until a reboot - thankyou udev!!!

Man!!! This is frustrating. Perhaps the only way to solve this is to use
another modem. Can anyone recommend one?

Have you tried the resources available at
<http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/>? Quick search of the archives
of [EMAIL PROTECTED] suggests that there were problems with
FC 2 and certain versions of the kernel that have been resolved.
Couldn't find any mention of FC 3. Running the scanModem script
is likely to help you find support.
