Whatever comes out of the box of the install. I seriously don't know which one. This is the first time I have sat down and tinkered with lvm. After doing training with my employer for other operating systems that use LVM, this time around linux LVM made more sense. As to software raid, or in my case raid1 mirror set. I noticed somewhere that they recommended to do it like so; make the entire drive 1 slice and select it to be raid device. Doing it for both drives. Then mirror them to each other. This is how I did it, and thus I wish to use lvm to give me slices for my filesystems. I just read something I found on google, and I noticed a fellow created slices on each drive (mirror copy of each other). And then he created an mdx device for each slice pair. I thought this was a little stupid to do it this way. Whats the general way everyone else does it?
