Is it good list etiquette to post the final solution to old inquiries? If

I phoned the nice man at the computer shop who gave me the phone number 
for Netgear support, who in turn failed to tell me that the old firmware 
was UFFS [1], but did suggest that I upgrade to the latest version. 
Although he gave me completely inaccurate upgrade directions, I knew 
enough to ignore what he told me, after which the new firmware completely 
solved the problem. The problem had nothing to do with Linux.
