Yes vmware is a good thing. By all means buy a copy and keep my company I work for in business *winks* I've used vmware for a number of years, and its certainly good way to evaluate linux without fearing about breaking an existing system through any faults you make installing. Vmware 5 will be out soon, and will bring with it even more functions to an already great product.
