Oh, it's one of *those*. That two connector thing never made much sense to me. At any rate, some laptops (mine included) don't actually have enough juice for whatever the HDD is after. I made a power cable for my drive; if yours has the same connector (1.1mm sheath-pin from memory) you can try it out; they're easy to make if you need one. > So I tried both the usb connectors on the cable into two usb ports. > (hence double the power) You'd think so, wouldn't you? Remember that USB is a standard, and you can't have a standard without strange and contrary deviations from said standard, to keep you on your toes. - Matt
