You could always travel Executive/Business/First Class - Japan Airlines at least has free net access ( use your own laptop or theirs) in their Executive Lounge at the Terminal - and also have Net access on International Flights from Japan to Europe ( not Oz) - don't know about other airlines. Of course, you pay about 250% more than for Economy ticket :) Also, you have to be quick to get a connection in the Lounge.
