I suppose if you added a tiny 4 bit DAC and wrote an audio driver then ran
a copy of festival (or something more low-tech) you'd have suitable
output at least. A few simple buttons (possibly using the same GPIO pins)
could be wired in for a bit of input.
Mind you, I don't think I'd like 802.11b right in my ear. It's microwave
frequency after all! Any intelligence gain would be negated by frying
brain cells.
