This is strange. What displays here is controlled by 'smtp.conf' and '#smtpd_tls_auth_only=yes'.
# cat sasl/smtpd.conf pwcheck_method: saslauthd mech_list: plain login
AUTH PLAIN LOGIN
should be listed and no more. I can't explain this. Something is wrong somewhere.

I noticed that in one of your previous postings, you had this:
# cat /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf pwcheck_method: saslauthd mech_list: plain login
Can you re-locate /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf to /usr/lib/sasl2/smtpd.conf ?
or where ever your libraries for 'sasl2' are located.
I am using Red Hat's and Fedora's and /usr/lib/sasl2 is the one.
