Theo's entitled to his opinions, like everybody else. But mine is that the difference in popularity is down to the licensing; if the BSD lawsuit was the real issue, how come the SCO one hasn't scared everybody away from Linux? Maybe the quality is indeed higher. But again, it seems to be the licensing that accounts for the popularity among both developers and users. I'm amused that he puts the popularity down to the support of large companies, ignoring the obvious point that it was Linux's pre-existing popularity that drew their attention in the first place. Hey, look! My first flame-fest! :) P.S. I'm not anti-BSD. It plainly suits plenty of people to use it, which is their choice. > Carlo > > PS.
