Hi all, My mother-in-law (new owner of a Mac) has given me a CD she burnt of the recent wedding of my sister-in-law.
When I tried to view them, my FC3 machine told me that the were 'owned' by 'niamh' and group 'niamh'. I had given my daughter her own user name on the machine. She has not had access to the CD or anything else - she's 4 :) I've deleted her user name and group (which was group number 501) and still have no access to the images... I have no idea why it thinks they should have been owned by her in the first place. Now the CD says the images are owned by group 501 - but there isn't a group id of 501???? I've no idea why it thinks thought the images belonged to niamh, nor why it now thinks there's a group 501. /etc/group shows no group 501 I then tried to make a group 501 and myself as a member but to no avail. Stumped! Any help most appreciated. Regards, Patrick -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
