>From memory, it seemed to. But it's been a while since I've used it,
I'll check and get back to you. I was able to use jack and demo sound
applications when I was at LCA, without any significant problems except
for noise. And the noise was from the laptop's power supply.

So that's a handy piece of advice, actually. If you're going to be using
a USB sound interface, make sure you have a clean source of power
feeding it. Most laptops aren't designed with audio in mind, for
instance. Peter Chubb had the same problem, and solved it with a powered
USB hub.
