Hi all, Anyone interested in the extremely cool features in Solaris 10, or meeting Bryan Cantrill (the man who famously asked Linux kernel hacker Dave Miller, "Have you ever kissed a girl?") should scoot on down to the Sun offices in North Sydney tonight.
dtrace is bloody brilliant. Coders or admins interested in tools that can help them analyse and plumb the depths of their *production* processes should be very excited about it. Definitely worth trying out Solaris 10 for! Love from Amsterdam. :-) - Jeff ----- Forwarded message from Glynn Foster <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ----- Date: Mon, 17 Oct 2005 09:45:44 +1300 From: Glynn Foster <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Sydney Open Solaris User Group - Meeting Oct 17th 6:30pm Hey, Thought this might be an interesting set of talks for anyone who is free around Syndey tonight - http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/os_user_groups/sosug/nextmeeting/ Topics: ZFS, D-Trace Speakers: James McPherson, Bryan Cantrill Time: 6:30pm Location: 33 Berry St, North Sydney I've heard Bryan is a good speaker, but never met him in person [he's also in MITs list of top innovators for this year].
