*If* she's running gnome 2.10 (I think) then there's a tool called.. uh..

vino-server from within the X session should start it up to allow VNC
connections to the desktop.  If you're on a recent ubuntu, you can
System->Preferences->Remote Desktop and check the Allow people to connect
checkbox.
